Bloating despite healthy eating? in Volketswil near Zurich

If your belly keeps bloating despite a healthy diet, there is often more to it than a “sensitive stomach”. I look for the causes with you – with a thorough intake, targeted tests and a plan that fits you.
Sound familiar?
Small meals
Your belly bloats even after small meals.
Tight clothes
That lovely summer dress, the fitted top – they stay in the wardrobe because everything pinches and presses and you feel uncomfortable.
Eating out
Restaurants or dinner at a friend's place feel stressful: what if I can't tolerate the food?
“Everything looks normal”
Scopes without findings, an IBS diagnosis – and still nothing has improved.
Why nothing
has helped so far
Many of my clients only come to me after a long journey: they've changed their diet, tried supplements, had gastroscopies or colonoscopies – often ending with a diagnosis of “IBS”.
And yet the symptoms remain.
That doesn't mean you have to live with it. Often, only the symptoms have been treated so far: something for the gas, a new diet. What rarely gets looked for is the cause.
What is SIBO?
With small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), too many bacteria live in the small intestine, where only a few belong. They ferment food too early – which can cause bloating, pressure and changing bowel habits. A lactulose breath test shows whether SIBO plays a role. SIBO is common, but it isn't the only possible cause. Others include:
- dysbiosis
- disturbed gut flora
- histamine intolerance
- insufficient bile acids
- reduced digestive enzymes
- chronic stress
- impaired gut motility
- food intolerances
Not every cause applies to everyone. That's why we test in a targeted way instead of guessing.
How I work
01 · First consultation
I take 60 to 90 minutes for your story, your symptoms and everything you've already tried. We go through previous findings together. In Volketswil or online.
02 · Targeted testing
If it makes sense, you do a lactulose breath test for SIBO or a microbiome analysis at home. The lab evaluates it, and I go through the results with you.
03 · Your treatment plan
Nutrition, targeted micronutrients and supplements, tailored to your results and your everyday life – with steps you can actually follow.
04 · Ongoing support
In follow-up sessions we look at what has changed and adjust the plan. If something falls outside my field, I work with a GP.
Why me
Focus on bloating
Before opening my own practice, I worked at an integrative health centre in Zurich, mainly with people suffering from bloating and digestive issues.
Testing, not guessing
Lactulose breath test and microbiome analysis with established labs, so we know where to start.
Connected
If something falls outside my field, I work with a GP. You don't have to coordinate everything yourself.

I'm Leandra.
And I always ask why.
As a child, I was ill for years myself. Since then, I've wanted to understand where symptoms come from. Today I mainly support people with bloating and digestive issues. I look forward to meeting you and helping you with your symptoms.

Frequently asked questions
How does the lactulose breath test work?
You do the test at home: after drinking a test solution, you give several breath samples over about two to three hours. The lab evaluates them, and we go through the results together.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on you. After the first consultation and the results, I can give you a realistic estimate.
Are online sessions possible?
Yes, from the very first consultation. You do the breath test and the microbiome analysis at home anyway.
Does health insurance cover the costs?
I'm EMR-registered. Whether and how much your supplementary insurance covers depends on your policy. It's best to check with your insurer beforehand.
When should I see a doctor first?
Warning signs such as blood in your stool, unintended weight loss, fever or severe pain should be checked by a doctor first. Where needed, I work with a GP.
